Where is the best place to get / buy bait near Hunting Island. No boat so limited to surf, shore, and pier.

Beach shop up by Johnson Ck Tavern usually has some tackle and fresh frozen bait.

There’s a man that sells live bait between Lady’s Island and St. Helena as well. It’s on the right and he usually has mud minnows, shrimp, and sometimes a mullet or two…

Are you referring to Atkins Bait? If so here’s the number (843)476-686…been getting our bait there for several years when we’re down on Coosaw.

Buy a cast net and catch your own! Can get a cast net atld for about $30.00, lots of creeks on the way to the island that are full of shrimp and mullett for the takeing. Good luck, hope you have a good week!
