Gonna come to the island end of July and was looking for a good canoe launch. Looking for something close to an inlet for good fishing shelling etc etc. Usually bring the big boat but wanted to change speeds this year. Any how found the address for the launch at framptons inlet. Used to put in there years ago so I called the guy. Not good 20 per person to launch your own boat for 3 hours and no fishing wtf .Well not gonna beat a dead horse so does anyone have any ideas. Might be stuck pulling the beast back down there. Thanks
Botany Bay - great launch spot for canoe/kayak. Great access for fishing and shelling. No admission charge but closed on Tues. Sign-in with volunteer at front gate.
Live Oak Landing at the State Park is good for fishing but not shelling. I think the charge is $5 per person to launch. Good Luck!

Ditto what Marsh Man said. If you end up on the beach side of Botany I don’t believe they will let you collect shells, but it has been a few years since I have been up there.
2x on Botany Bay. Throw in is on Ocella Creek - really nice. It comes out in N Edisto just behind the point from Deveraux Bank. Only kids can keep a 1/2 gal pale full of shells each off front beach. Best shelling around that area… Next best I would say is at Marina Landing. Both places play the tide to your advantage.
Thnx ford. It’s hard to tell from pics but on an out going tide how long would it take to get from landing to beach on the on the river in a canoe with a trolling motor. Also thought it might be good for Sheeps in big bay creek. Have to fish the incoming from the marina though.
Might want to reread the rules for shelling on the front beach at Botany Bay. Kids were once allowed to keep a quart of shells. It states that nothing can be removed from the front beach now.
We went to Botany Bay last year for the first time. Made 3 trips with the wife and daughter. There is a sign posted at the entrance of the beach access path that says shelling is prohibited, and there is a $400 fine for removing shells or artifacts.
Nice place to spend the day. My 9 year old daughter caught her first Redfish in the surf there last Sept, a 28" fish…
