Well this week we finished the fairing on the 17’ Also picked up some mahogany to start on the spray rails and rub rails. Once these are installed, glassed, and faired we will be ready to flip. Hopefully next weekend! Also started on the console of the 17’ We have started by gluing up the relative shape out of 2" foam. Once we sand out the 1.25 in radius corners and do some other small shaping, it should look great. You cant tell from the pics but it tapers from front top back and top to bottom at 4 degrees. Once it is completely shaped, it will get 4 layers of 1708 biaxial cloth. We will then remove the foam from inside and begin fairing the outside.

As far as the 21’, we are just plugging away adding more layers to the chine and sheer before the shaping process. Then its off to planking!

if u dont mind me askin what do u sell boats like these for, just a ballpark price! not that i have the money but just curious

You guys spend way too much time cleaning up:)

Most folks have no idea how much work goes into these builds. Lookin good…

Trust me, the shop doesn’t always look this clean. Try to keep it organized but still haven’t found a way to keep the inch thick dust off of everything, haha. Thanks for the compliments, its always nice to hear that people admire what you do but hearing it from people that conduct top quality work them self’s and know how hard it is mentally not to talk your self into lowering your standards while fairing at 10 PM on a Saturday night and so on is reassuring. Still learning a lot about every aspect of the builds but really enjoy watching it come together. Thanks again.

Well shes starting to show some of that Carolina Attitude! Finished glassing on and fairing the spray rails and rub rails. Now just primer and flipping on Sunday.

Looks like it’s going to be a rocket!
Are you putting the engine on a jack plate?

Grady duck,

The engine will be on an Atlas jack plate. We are debating between a 90 or 115 suzuki 4 stroke. Just finished spraying Alexseal 442 finish primer tonight. Flipping tomorrow and taping it so ill post the video tomorrow.

Got the boat flipped today. Here is a video.

Hate to keep asking all the questions but I have built a few wooden boats and the quality of your work and pics is awesome! Since fish finders can’t “shoot through the ply” where do you put the units? In your flats boat I guess you can mount it on the transom. In your offshore boat what did you do? Make a through hull and glass it in place?

That is correct.

Well we have been pretty busy over the last week. The inside is completely glassed and the bilge area is almost faired. Will be ready for paint in a few days. In the forward area, we have all the plumbing and chase tubes installed. We are waiting a few days on our custom fuel cell to arrive so we are dry fitting some floor supports, sole, and side walls while we wait. The 21’ is almost ready for shaping and planking. We are messaging on the rib bands and sheer band right now.

That’s a pretty piece of wood for the chine of the 21’'er.

When can I put an order in? Awesome work!

33 World Cat TE

Always taking orders, haha. Actually the guy we are building the 17 flats boat for has decided to have us build him a bigger boat so this one could be yours!

The one pictured above is on the market?

Well it hasn’t been advertised for sale but it is available. Our original agreement when we started the build was that the client was going to let us use it in the Miami boat show so even though we are designing his second boat, he wasn’t going to make an effort to sell until after the show. That being said, if someone is interested they could have it pretty quick and even pick the color, haha. Boat will be complete mid august. Check out our facebook page for more detail on how the boat will be finished out!

A little more progress on the boats. We are installing the deck supports and dry fitting the interior of the 17’. Wont be long and the deck construction will begin. The 21’ is basically ready to be shaped and then the planking will start!

Well over the past few days we were able to get quite a bit done. We finished and installed the rear deck supports. We cut both layers of the deck and laminated them together. We then removed the deck from the boat to flip it over and build our hatch compartments and livewells. Also easier to glass it on the back side like this. We also got three layers of glass on the console mold. Its starting to look like a rear boat!

Hey Joel, I don’t know how you keep up with all the post and still have time to build

I’m building this same boat here in Charleston, not to hi jack the thread but you can see mine and many other at enviboats.com.

Keep up the good work!
