I have 2 10inch frying pans
One is 2 inches deep, just your average everyday cast iron pan. Old Was Granny Busy’s pan $20
The other is Granny Busy’s chicken fryer. 10" diameter 3" deep
with lid. the lid has all these protrusions for self basting when used in the oven as a small roaster. $30
like anything else, these need to be used. They’ve been sitting idle for 10 years and 3 moves.
It’s time to let them go.
Sold pending pickup
We’re parting with some other family heirlooms as well. We offered to give them to other family members and no one seems to want them. The two items that’ll never pass out of the family will be each Great Granny’s family bible
A standup mission / craftsman style desk. Sorry not a standup desk. too many drugs in my system from shoulder surgery
a cedar chest
a couple of marble top mahogany end tables
an upholstered mahogany arm chair

There is only one thing I dislike about cast iron. Most of it is too heavy for Mrs. Cracker to wash, so I always get the wash duty. Just finished up cleaning a chicken frying pan.
Cracker Larry ,
that the problem never suppose to wash
cast iron, just heat it up good an wipe
it out good.
then the wife has no problem cleaning it.
This is why mind doesn’t mind using them.
I don’t ever use soap in them, that would be sacrilege, but do wash them with water hot enough to cut some grease. Not all, just some. You can’t just wipe out 4" of grease, it’s got to be carried outside. And it’s heavy when full of grease.

My chicken fryer is heavy when it’s empty. Grease adds about another 6lbs or so
