They catch a lot of cobia off of NC piers. Also, I have seen as many as a dozen caught in one day from the sand on Cape Point. The beach fish that day ranged from 39 to 90 lbs. Unfortunately the NPS is getting really bad about closing the beaches to vehicles. The closures have seemed to coincide with the best time to catch Drum and cobia in the last few years.
so true
nice…any idea if cobia come around fernandina beach (florida/georgia border) much?
def dont think im gonna take 1500lbs of cobia like the article said some people have done 1 otta be enough for a while. whats the best way to catch them from piers sight fishing and toss jigs, just like king fishing, big bait on the bottom, …?
all the above.
