Grace and I headed out Sat night, the bite was horrible, 5 0z spunick wouldnt keep the bait still. Later in the evening the wind did calm down and the skeeters got so bad I walked in circles for a couple of hours, couldnt hold still. Grace snuck up behind me in the dark, I casted and belly hooked her, she was fine but my 11 ft St croix couldnt handle it , it broke, thank God for lifetime warranty-well see how that goes. Wonderful Evening, simply wonderful:frowning_face: My buddy fished the morning and said they didnt do that well he and two others only caught 18, so that makes me feel better, yea right. I at least got to see his pics.
Crap… Belly hooked the dog and snapped an 11 foot rod in the process!!! I know that hurt like hell! Well, glad the dog is ok and you didn’t cast her out successfully! Ouch.

Yes Sir, great day to say the least, the strange thing was she was barely hooked, I cant explain it, must have tripped the bail and combined with 5 oz weight and big chunk of mullet and the dog it snapped . The poles these days with the high tech graphite are great cast far, light weight, great action but put pressure on them the wrong way -they seem weak, dont make them like they used too. Glad to hear from you Captain hope your doing well, at least I didnt get skunked and caught a lab. lol.
Haha. That one made me laugh. I am doing well, thank you. Good luck out there. Big ones are coming through now.
