CC VHF mount

Any ideas on mounting a VHF antenna on the side of a CC? I just bought a new boat and want a low profile mount, that won’t stick out from the side and be in the way to much! Whatever I put there will interfere with the rod holders, but not much I can do about that.

Does the console have a hand rail or windshield rail that you could attach a rail mount bracket to?

Cracker; It does and I never gave that a thought! Thank you!

I put a folding mount on the hand rail around mine up high. A 4’ antenna will fold down in line with the hand rail and is not in the way of anything.

Another good idea! Thanks tigerfin! Did you mount you radio on top of the console or recessed into the face? I think I’ll mount it on top and wire tie the cord to the rail and mount. I don’t like drilling holes in boats.

I put it on top, I put a plug in line with the NMEA to the depthfinder so I can remove it from the boat when I leave it overnight at a marine. I also ran the antenna cable around the console so i wouldn’t have to drill any more holes either.

They also make it in plastic/nylon.

I like it! A bit pricy, but you get what you pay for. Would look good on a stainless rail. Thanks Bowhunter.

So, when we going out Easy?

Search EBAY or Amazon and I think that you can find one cheaper. The one that I have on my boat is very similar to this one. I actually swiped mine off another boat that was being sold.

Thanks guys! DF, I won’t have the boat for a few days. They wanted to put it on a galvanized roller trailer and I want an Aluminum bunk, so they have to order the trailer! Said it would take 10 days to get in? I’m just looking for ideas of what I want to do with it. So far I’ve gotten some good ones!

Pay the extra and get all ss hardware if they offer it. It’ll be well worth the in investment.

What kind of boat Easy?

Good move going to aluminum w/bunks, not wild about rollers. Just seems to be a lot of work (repairs) down the road. Good luck, posts some pics when you get it.

Will do DF! Yeah, rollers are just too many moving parts to keep maintained and rust free!

Easy, I’ve got one of these, lightly used. Yours if you want it.
