CCASC STAR TOURNAMENT...UPDATE

I have in my possession, because of taking it from one banquet to another, one of 2 bright shiny 2017 21 ft Sea Hunts that can be won in this years tournament! It is a nice boat for sure!

I can not win it because I am on the committee but I sure hope that someone that I know does!

48 slot redfish tagged from Murrells Inlet to Beaufort and you still have through Labor Day weekend to catch one! You must be registered for the tournament and a CCA member. GO FISH!

Has any eligible participant caught a CCA tagged fish yet in SC?

Please send coordiants of tagged fish in the Edisto area.

I’ve been trying!

No tagged fish has been caught by an eligible or non-eligible/not registered person as of today at 10:15 am that we have been notified of!

Also a side note…

If by chance a tagged fish is not caught during the tournament by a registered paid member CCASC will be giving one of the boats away to one of the tournament registered members!

So get registered and go fish!

I have a question that I don’t see an answer to…

The website says this:
“The first two CCA members registered for the tournament to catch a STAR- tagged redfish could win a new 2017 Sea Hunt Boat Company BX 22 BR bay boat, Yamaha 150 motor, and a Wesco aluminium trailer valued at over $40,000!”

Why does it say COULD? What are the stipulations? It’s possible I catch the fish and don’t get the boat?

There are rules, nothing out of the ordinary! There have been some issues in past tournaments in other states with people trying to cheat or rule infractions. We have 2 boats to give away and we want someone to win them both!

The rules are posted on the CCASC web site.

How many fish was released in each area?

Something told me to stay home and clean my guns today.

I think this is a great idea if you fish a good bit. Or fish in popular areas.

I did, however, just notice that the pics of the “boat you can win” on the website has a T-top, a NICE leaning post, etc., but the actual boat does not…lol.

I will sign up anyway.

You are correct about the T-top, I think it says somewhere “not actual boat” or “T-top not included” or describes the actual boat? Still a very nice setup!

4 people were in charge of the tagging, I am not one of them so I have no clue as of where or how many were tagged in each area. (Nor would I tell if I did know!!LOL)

SEA HUNT is a GREAT sponsor to CCA and a huge supporter of the STAR Tournaments in all of the states that have a STAR Tournament, we have 2 boats that we would love to give away. This tournament will be considered successful if this happens. We want to award these boats to a lucky angler, member, participant in the tournament!

Given how well STAR tournaments have done in states all along the gulf, I can’t imagine it not doing well here in SC.

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

I was just asking because of they were mostly tagged in the murrels inlet or Charleston area and I fish mostly Beaufort, I would be waisting my time and money fishing a tournament that the chances would be slim to none on winning. Regardless I became a member of the car but was holding off on buying into the tournament.

I spoke with CCA personnel that participated in the tagging and he told me he did it for two weeks and he tagged fish from just north of the GA/SC border up to just south of the SC/NC border in that two week span.

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

Beaufort/HH was definitely included!

Still no captures of tagged fish that we have been notified of!

We are going to give the boat in the above picture away to someone who is registered for this tournament and a current CCA member!

Hopefully it is with a recovery of a tagged fish by a qualified angler but if that does not happen for some reason, we will randomly choose a qualified registered entrant to win!

GO FISH! or at least go register…you may still win!

MICHAEL L SMITH

Still no captures!! 48 fish tagged!! Next year we may need to bump the numbers!

Regardless if a tag is not captured, we are giving the boat in the picture to someone who has registered to participate!

Even if I was not planning on fishing between now and Labor Day, I would consider entering just for the opportunity! I know I would if I was eligible!

$45,000 boat for an entry of a membership and entering the tournament…no brainer!

I’m trying!!! I’m catching fish but none have a fancy little tag hanging off of them.

God bless the “ignore” function.
