CharlestonFishing.Com will be 5 years old this April. During the last 5 years we have been visited over 2.1 million times and have evolved quite a bit during this time. Vasco (our webmaster) recently sent me a link to a website that logs old websites and there were many old versions of our site to look back at and realize just how much the site has grown and changed. Some things we tried were successful, while others did not work out as well as we had hoped, but I must say I believe the end result, to date, is something we are all proud of and hope it will continue to evolve into something even better 5 years from now.
From the beginning, one of the things we tried to do was to listen to what the people that used the site wanted. Many of the things you see available on the site today are a direct reflection of things people told us they needed, to make the site a tool, for learning from their fellow anglers and a place that they could find what they needed to know to plan a fishing trip. We have tried to take everyone’s input and at the same time make the site a family friendly place to be.
This past week, due to many of the site users emailing us and telling us that they wanted separate reports pages for offshore and inshore fishing, we have split this section of the site. This is something we’ve been hearing for over a year now and we were not being hard headed, but rather waiting for the site to grow to a point, where it supported 2 separate pages. Based on the number of reports we have received through the winter months and looking back at last years offshore season, we’ve made this change many have asked for and feel like it is just another way everyone is helping keep the site useful and informative.
Another comment we have begun to hear more is not a positive, but to explain some changes I am going to speak to it briefly. We have quite a few members that like to cut up and have fun on the site and we all believe that is adds to the site and makes it entertaining. During the last ye
