Tang, brixx mt p has good beer tap selection, usually several ipa’s

I’ve heard that, and despite the place being right down the street, I don’t think I’ve ever been over there.

Best burger I’ve ever had was at Your Place downtown which closed several years ago…

No sure if they’re still over here, but they actually reopened in Mount Pleasant about a year after they shut down the hole in the wall downtown. Not sure if the people / food remained the same - I never did make it over there.

Speaking of tap beer…can’t find Sweetwater Blue anywhere. Ya think it’s seasonal? Any suggestions?

You can get it at Harris Teeter in MtP. Good stuff!

*the one on Northcutt. never been to the HT on Longpoint

I think we need a bigger boat…

Thanks for the tips…but I like it on draft way better than out of the bottle. Not going to complain about bottle beer one bit, but life is good when drinking a cold draft beer.

liberty steakhouse in mt p has some good drafts made on site. it’s on 17 bypass in the old tbonz place. i think same guy jerry scheer runs it.

Hmmm… Always had the mahi tacos at Triangle. Have to give the burger at try. Best burger I’ve ever had was at Your Place downtown which closed several years ago…

I know this is a burger thread, but those mahi tacos are the best I have had in Charleston! Very much worth going there at happy hour.

OH SO TRUE…Sunday Brunch–Mahi Tacos with endless Mimosas… Bring on the recliner!

How’s about a brunch meeting on Sunday, Fishnbug? I’ll pay for the cab!

I’ve only been once since it reopened as Liberty Tap Room, but I’m pretty sure they don’t brew on site anymore. I also wasn’t too fond of the place. I know they had just opened and all, but they were out of all but one of the Liberty beers.

tang, go back and try the gumbo, the rare tuna sandwich, or the tuna sashimi thing pile up in a big up-do on the plate. all those were good. we were there the 1st week and they didn’t have it together yet. it’s better now.

Good to hear. They had only been open a week or two when I went, so hopefully they’ve gotten everything together since. I’ll have to head back over there and give the place another try.

It’s still disappointing they don’t brew on site. I was fond of the Cooper River Red that T-Bonz had, and while the Liberty Red may be pretty good as well, I wouldn’t know - that was one of the beers they were out of that night.

i thought i saw brew gear set up. is that for looks?

I guess so, but I wouldn’t mind being wrong. I don’t remember seeing any brewing equipment, but I was on the patio the whole time. When I asked about the Liberty beers, the waitress informed me that they no longer brewed on site. I just took her word for it.

The T-Bonz group also makes a distinction between Liberty Brewery (Myrtle Beach and Highpoint) and Liberty Tap Room. Not sure if there’s any meaning behind the names, though.

I think that could be easily written on my calendar!

TBonz’s also owns Pearlz, I do believe. I really like the pub downtown and the Lil’Pearlz in Awedaw is pretty tasty as well. My favorite there are the fish tacos.

Dang…Charleston can cook up some FISH TACOS. I have lots of favorite places. If ya haven’t tried them at Zia’s…what’cha waitin’ for?

“Simple is more better.”

Few things.

First, on the subject of the thread. Best gourmet burgers in Charleston are at Jacob’s Kitchen. Kobe beef and just about anything you could want on it at lunch. Housemade pimento, mesquite grilled red onion, and applewood bacon at dinner.

Second, Blueberry beer is for women.

Third, Poe’s is awful. It would be amazing what some salt and a littel talent in that kitchen could do for that place.

Fourth, Liberty is ok. Nothing to scream about. Their beers are the same as TBonz. Decent, but they have better stuff on tap than most of their house brews, and the staff will tell you so. Good looking bartenders.

Last, fish tacos are overrated, as are truffled fries, but I still need to get on that Hall’s burger.
