Bought a bucket and a box from Grayco and didn’t get to fish. Just bought today, going home tomorrow morning. Staying on Hunting Island. Paid $30 or more, will sell for $20 or take home and refreeze to use another time. Text 803-917-5287
Couldn’t find live bait anywhere, Burnt a tank of gas looking all the way from Paris island to the beach in front of the Westin. No luck. Went inshore and caught some supper. Not sure what anyone did today.
Yeah, either couldn’t find the right creek with the bald eagle or thought I found it and couldn’t figure out how to get to it at low tide.
Fished the one you told me north of the boat landing and caught some keeper trout and flounder on trout tricks. Beautiful area. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for the tips Larry. The icing on the day was eating at Bricks on Boundry. Great place to stop.
If it’s the same creek I’m thinking of its near impossible to get into at low tide. Gotta get in there at half tide and fish to low and back to half. Then head on out! Last time I fished it 2 bald eagles were playing/fighting/mating or something they would collide into each other 100ft in the air and come spiraling down to the ground. Pretty amazing.
Yep, that’s the same creek:smiley: It is real tricky getting in at low tide but it can be done. Almost guaranteed fish in there though. Those eagles eat good.

The eagles keep an eye on the fishermen and swoop down and grab any released fish that hang on the surface too long. Very entertaining

There are times when there are a dozen boats lined up along those trees and almost everybody catches fish. It ain’t no secret spot, that’s for sure I don’t think I’ve ever been the only boat there when I’ve fished it, always got some company.
The man who taught me how to fish it said that if the eagles were there, the fish were there, and if you pull up and don’t see the eagles, might as well turn around and fish somewhere else. I’ve found it to be true.
The eagles also bring a spectator crowd sometimes. I’ve seen tour boats loaded with people with big cameras in there photographing them.

Nice pics Larry! Yeah I was just kidding about being the only one fishing in there. Always a couple boats lined up like you said. I’ve caught about every kind of inshore fish off of those trees.
On the way out…make a hard right and keep the starboard gunwale about 12 ft off the bottom of the grass…give it gas and run straight following the grass line about 120 yards at low tide…then you’re in the clear…heck of an oyster rake on the river side and a nice sized oit bluges out on the marsh side
.seen plenty of boats hung up there… At high tide even…
