That wasn’t a jab at USC, both instate schools have struggled against FCS opponents in the past up to half time.
USC/Citadel
USC/Wofford
CU/Wofford
CU/Troy
Neither of us have anything to brag about, what I meant was hopefully we can show up the first half and get 2nd/3rd in to rest up for USC.
Hopefully you guys can do the same. Don’t need any excuses from either side after next Saturday. Hoping for a top 10 matchup and everyone 100%!

You gotta believe! I am a Clemson fan unless they are playing The Citadel. While I’ve had an awful lot of good times at Clemson, I left a lot of blood sweat and tears in Charleston in 1989. Hell, if my son was playing for a college team that was playing The Citadel I would be rooting for the Dogs.
About the only time that game will be close is before they kick it off.

Have had a few members of the Citadel football team in the shop recently and they were saying how stoked they were to get to play in DV. Pretty cool I thought how pumped these guys are to go play CU, said whether they get killed or not on the scoreboard how great of an experience it is for them to play at places like WIlliams Brice and Death Valley

I’m going. I’d like to see Dabo let Tahj air it out in his final home game, but I hate the Cid may be on the other end of it. At least it sounds like the kids have a good attitude about it.
I think most of these FCS school players are resigned to look past the scoreboard and enjoy the experience. Plus, they get a chance to make one or two lifetime memories. In ten years some Cid grad will be pointing at Sammy on the TV playing in the NFL and telling his son how he tackled Sammy for a loss on a screen play. It won’t matter that Sammy might have 200 yards and 4 touchdowns in the game and burned the guy on 10 other plays. These guys will make some individual plays against top notch opponents that they will remember forever.
