Saw the same thing on the ESPN discussion about the game. Clemson is a great place to go, but it has to make you think how terrible Louisville must be!
There are a couple good posts like this that we have been sharing on FB also.
From my perspective, the UL people I spoke with Saturday outside and inside the game were pretty respectful and appreciative of our traditions and atmosphere. I saw many UL people checking out the campus and stadium early Saturday morning and taking pictures and talking with Clemson folks.
Some friends of ours have been talking about going up to the UL-Clem game next year, and I am strongly considering it.
It just feels like a natural rivalry has started between the two programs for whatever reason. I explained to a UL fan near me during the game that we were a football school and that how he felt was the same way I would be feeling during basketball season. I pointed out our basketball coach and a couple players who were sitting in the stands near us- not in some nice box or on the sidelines- in the stands. The UL guy agreed that at his place, that wouldn’t have been the case.
GT-Clem is a rivalry, and FSU-Clem is a rivalry. They aren’t what I view as good rivalries though. I hate going to ATL. The campus isn’t any fun, there’s no “campus” really. Feels like you are in Washington D.C. about to get jumped if you don’t keep an eye out. FSU hasn’t been competitive. We either win big or lose big. This year was different, and I think we had a game down there in 05 that was close with us pulling it out. Otherwise, it is lopsided, normally in their favor.
It feels to me like we as a fan base welcome a program that is on the rise that has good support for it. We thought VT and Miami would be that way, but we didn’t get them in our division and don’t play that often. Hard to have a rivalry with somebody you don’t play that often.
I was impressed by Louisville, honestly. Their fans were knowledgeable folks- not bandwagon posers with other schools like GT or FSU who will show up at Clemson for a game and not even know much about the history of the school, or much of anything about the school, they are supporting. UL’s defe

This year Kentucky could beat most of the ACC… Along with most of the SEC East.

b8,
I would say that I don’t understand all the jealousy of a school who actually has a campus that fans tailgate on, but I remembered that your tailgating takes place in an industrial zone where there isn’t enough police presence to make reports on all the crimes***
No, the state fairgrounds does not count as part of your campus, nor do railroad tracks or the Bojangles parking lot.
Sorry.
Phin, I dont understand what you are trying to say? are you bashing USC because the campus is not in middle of no where. where you can move some cow to build a stadium.
BTW I making fun of the “Lady” for starting a topic and then having to beg for comments.
There are good and bad everywhere.

No bashing.
Only defense of “patting myself on the back twice.”
