Clemson Football

I see the hype building. Saw something that said the first game of the season will be the same game and location Clemson played the year they won the National Championship. The question I have is how do you Clemson guys see this season going? What will constitute a successful season with wins? What will be a disappointment in the loss column? I am just curious, not at all meant to bash or set anything up I am just curious. I heard all of the hype last year about Carolina, but being a long time fan I did not buy into it with the players we had lost the year prior.

Clemson is still a couple of elite recruiting classes away from a National Championship. They’ve had some great classes, but they still lack that ability to truly reload year after year to compensate for graduation and, especially, early departures for the NFL. The biggest problem this year will be defense…you just can’t replace all those guys that made last year’s defense elite. I’m also not convinced the offense is going to be as good as everyone says. No elite TE, RB or WR that I can see. And, no, Mike Williams and Artavis Scott are not elite the way Nuk Hopkins and Sammy Watkins were elite.

Next time you come in, come heavy, or not at all…

10-2 or 11-1 IF Watson stays healthy. Who knows if he doesn’t.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Anywhere from 12-0 to 8-4. Depends on how fast the defense matures. I have to take the high road with Watson staying healthy. The 8-4 comes from some close games and how the ball bounces. Sometimes in those games it bounces your way and sometimes it doesn’t.

This is funny. It’s better when you guys discuss your own team. Plenty to talk about there.

We lose 3 games…one of which won’t be the last one. It’ll be a little bit to get the D in line and it will cost us.

10-2 is my gut feeling. Losses to either ND, FSU, or GT. Pretty sure we will beat Louisville and the cocks. The rest are easy games.

But the upside is there for 11-1 and the ACC Champs.

If CU gets by Louisville and ND, the motivation factor will sky rocket. On the other hand, we’ve seen Clemson implode the week after a big win. Hopefully those days are gone

This. Basically it's like every year. Clemson needs to actually win all of the games they should win, and then play lights out against ND, FSU, and GT. The problem is they're notorious for screwing up against BC or NC St.

hey Fishb8? know what this year is? yep, time for Clemson to win the National Championship! woohoo, I’m buying my plane tickets tomorrow…gonna be epic!

I will say, Clemson is loaded to compete in slug fests now, and not just shootouts.

Louisville is the test. Not because they are going to be particularly good but due to a short week and on a Thursday night on the road. I’m not so worried about ND, they have quite a few issues and holes to fill. FSU is still loaded with talent and may play better without the Winston distraction. Clemson will beat the **** out of GT this year. Honestly the one that worries me most is the NCST game in Raleigh on Halloween night, the Pack sucks but weird things happen up there. Nobody else on the schedule should be much of a problem for them, provided Watson stays healthy.

Healthy Watson, and another 10 win season at the very least

10-2 with losses to ND & GT. Yes we lost a lot on defense, but we have also recruited well and all of our backups last year have had plenty of starts and snaps to not look lost on the field. The D will not be as good as last year, but still think we have a top 40 defense in the nation. Offense will be elite as long as Watson stays healthy. We will have great skill players at WR, and have 4 good RB’s that we can interchange whenever we want. The Oline is my concern, we lost a couple guys but have some very talented young guys taking over. The first couple of games will be good signs to see if the Oline is coming together or not.
