I have know idea if those numbers are correct and really don’t care. But I understand why he posted it…the crazy talk by Clemson fans and USC’s history in the SEC. Oh and that the top 3 ACC team could beat EVERY SEC team.
But with that said, I agree with 23. Talking about a football game that happened during WWII is stupid.

Far from bragging. I hear so much crap about how we have not done crap in the SEC. Clemzzzon is worse against the SEC than we are. I like these number threads so play a little what ifs.
First these numbers I am using come from the College Football Database. I assume they count all wins/losses as the team is currently a SEC member. I assume all the wins against Carolina count for Clemson as against the SEC even though they weren’t a member until '92.
Clemson’s all time record is 119-168-14 (.42)
Carolina’s all time record is 95-169-10 (.36)
Lets throw out all Clemson vs Carolina games as we are comparing them against the SEC.
Clemson becomes 54-127-10 (.30)
Carolina Stays at 95-169-10 (.36)
Now lets consider that Carolina has had the privilege of playing Kentucky and Vanderbilt every year for the last 20 odd years and Clemson mainly only played them if they were good enough to make it to a bowl game. Lets throw those two teams out the equation.
Clemson becomes 48-97 (.33)
Carolina becomes 61-158(.27)
Looks pretty similar.
The point of this exercise is to show how numbers don’t always tell the real story and, as mentioned, don’t mean a whole lot when talking about today. Another point is that it shows both teams actually have sucked against the SEC in their history and, as mentioned, both have nothing to brag about. Heck, Clemson has losing records against Kentucky and Vandy!
I don’t get the statement about the three top ACC teams either FISH.

The OP of this thread just wreaks of desperation. Like the kid who is not longer the center of attention doing everything to get focus back on him/her. Fine you want to look at history, Clemson has had a better program overall throughout the history of the two programs, regardless of competition. Carolina has had 4 years of being relevant, 2 four win streaks in 40/50 some odd years, Clemson’s done it what 4 or 5 times, not to mention streaks of 5, 6, and 7. Clemson is presently ranked #3 in the nation, they beat UGA and Carolina didn’t. Clemson is facing a #5 team this week, a convincing win gets them closer statistically to Oregon and Bama in the polls. A loss flip flops them with FSU and keeps them ahead of the Chickens in the polls.
Carolina has had a nice run and has the ability to make the SECCG at this point, best concentrate on that, not what is going on in Clemson. UT isn’t going to lay down like Arkansas did. Mizzu is going to be a real test too. UF is always tough and their defense is just nasty. Lose any one of those games and your season’s success will be determined by the CU game. If CU comes into that game undefeated, they’ll be leaving it undefeated.

If South Carolina doesn’t focus and play consistent, they can easily lose to Tennesse and Missouri. The Gamecocks will not lose to Florida this year, not after that embarassment in Gainsville last season.

I highly doubt they lose to UF either but, Florida has the nastiest defense SC will see during the regular season. Their offense is awful but is still better than with Driskel at the helm. Being in WB I’d say Carolina can win handily but it seems like there’s always that screw the pooch moment in those games. Shaw’s grit and legs will probably determine that one in the end.

Tennesse should be ok as long as we show up with our heads in the game. Missouri could go either way I think
Hey RWL and Fish, what’s not to get? I said The top 2, and PROBABLY the 3rd teams currently in the ACC can beat any SEC team on a Neutral field. Pretty plain english to me. I could be wrong, but I don’t think so this year. We’ll get to see a few more this regular season, and hopefully in bowl season.
*Now don’t get me wrong, NCState, Duke, UNC, etc, suck. But the SEC has those teams too. My point was the top few teams in the ACC can compete and beat the top SEC teams,
