x2 on congrats to Cole/Chappell, Team Flats Broke for another great catch. I hope results will be posted soon, but also congrats to Simmons/Lowder and Ben Alderman and his son with 2nd and 3rd respectively. Just enduring the conditions was enough to be proud of, but there were lots of fish caught considering the 2-3 inches of rain that fell.

I live on the ICW and woke up Saturday morning to one boat after another racing to go fishing in freezing cold, rainy, windy weather. I don’t care if you didn’t catch a fish, my hats off to anyone that had the courage to fish a day that the weather was so miserable. I sat there and drank my warm coffee for over a hour watching many many boats scream by while shaking my head thinking “these guys are crazy.” Congrats again just for making it out on Saturday.

I love fishing but that was pretty terrible. We caught a few overs, but there havent been many days I was this happy see my car. Truely impressed with the guys that caught fish that were legal. Congratulations.

P.S. We were on fish all day, was it just us or did others have issues with very sensative fish? Like I said we caught a few but they were locked up and spooking on looooooooonnnnnngggg down wind casts with very light lures. Very frustrating.

Results are posted on Lowcountry Redfish Cup’s Facebook page. It was a wet one!

Yes, and for us they have been that way on most days around here. We stayed on the school that produced our 4.5 lb. fish for an hour and a half and not another bite. They just kept running in between 2 oyster bars. Dead-sticking with heavily scented baits produced nada. It’s just that time of year. You gotta be on the right fish, and you have to get them to cooperate which is sooooo not easy!
