Clowney

Everybody is talking about how great he is and how he is going to be a number one draft pick, all I can say can we remember Courtney Brown?

Who?

http://www.wistv.com/story/24764766/south-carolina-gamecocks-steve-spurrier-jadeveon-clowney-work-ethic

Brown was a very good player he just could not stay healthy once he got to the pros.

Please tell me what the heck Courtney Brown has in common with JD?

Really…

Both played football?

“Apathy is the Glove in Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”.

he has been getting a lot of negative press recently. Warren Sapp and others saying his work ethic is terrible.

Won’t hurt him in the draft at all though.

OK. I’m not saying he has good work ethic or not, but you are quoting a player that has not practiced, played with him.

I can’t wait for the draft to be over. Maybe your hatred will end also

I don’t think Jadaveon Clowney really cares if he is the first pick or not. The only ones who care are the morons who think that makes him special. I can guarantee you, not one player in the league cares or is impressed. He has all the talent in the world to be one of the best if not the best player at DE to every play the game. Maybe when he is finally getting paid, we will see all of it on display. Appearances are that he doesn’t have much of a work ethic and is lazy about developing his talents, maybe millions of dollars will motivate him.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Fish - I don’t hate JD at all. Or anyone for that matter. Just passing along one of the few things I have read about him recently.

Salty, maybe he was just bored at the college level and as you said once he is playing in the league he gets back to full form.

I’m placing money on he goes #1. Simply because the other QBs probably aren’t as good & Texas will most likely have that position at the forefront of their choice criteria.

What “appearances” do you mean? the ones put out there by shevlin? or by the people that have never played with him?

If Clowney is running a 4.4-4.5 as a couch potato, i’d like to see his time when he’s more dedicated, either way his stats have been impressive. USC owes him plenty of thanks for bringing tons of national attention to the program, and playing his part in producing some of the best teams USC has ever seen, in his time at the school. As you guys have said, only time will tell how his NFL career will go, if only money drives him he’ll be average, if he’s in it for the glory he’ll be great.

Mayok, Sapp, and quite a few other scouts that question his work ethic. They get paid to evaluate the players. The young man has every tool and talent in the world for the game but even you cock loving homers have to admit that he is absent at times and has taken plays off. I wish him the best, be nice to see him go a long way in a pro career not to mention fun to watch.

When Clowney gets in an NFL strength program he will get much stronger. Reggie White was 6ft 5in 305lbs . He ran a 4.5 40 and could bench press your house. I think Clowney can get there with the right coaching staff and program.

He is probably talking about the appearance put out there by Clowney’s coach which caused everybody to talk about this.

Did you not see the link Smiley posted?

“He was OK,” Spurrier said on NFL Network, the implication being that Clowney didn’t exactly wear out the alarm clock or tax the hinges on the weight-room door. “It wasn’t like Marcus Lattimore, you know, every player is a little different. His work habits are pretty good, they’re not quite like Lattimore, a Stephon Gilmore, Melvin Ingram, some of those guys”

It was obvious he came into the season out of shape and was winded all year. He takes plays off often and you can see that by watching him play, hence Sapps’ comments. You don’t need to be in the locker room or on his team to make that judgment Fish.

As I said this is pointless as he will still probably go #1. Just poin

Were still talking about a kid here. What were you doing at 21?

I think with the right coaches and a little maturity, he can be unstoppable.

His last year he was double and triple teamed quite a bit.

There is a stat confirmed out there that 65% of his plays the opposing team ran to the opposite side of the line…away from him.

For all you ACC fans and Auburn fans that means that 35% of the time teams ran into the middle or to his side. And then he was either doubled or tripled…

I am a JD homer…

He will either show up in the NFL or not…

My guess is he will…

I also know personally that he is a gentleman…

My daughter is currently a junior at USC and last year at the basketball game honoring the football team, JD was standing close to her and her friends…she asked him if he would pose for a photo with them and he said “yes Maam”…

very polite, very kind…

Sapp is an idiot analyst…so are the rest…

The SI guy, Peter King, is arrogant beyond words…

He wasn’t out of shape and didn’t take plays off often…

Spurrier said he didn’t work out like Latti…

No kidding…who does???

The truth of the matter is, “The Hit”, was the worst thing that could have happened to him because it elevated him to God-like status where he was under a microscope every game. Heck, ESPN had 1 camera dedicated to him in the UNC game. When is the last time a network dedicated a camera to a single player? No one can live up to the unrealistic expectations everyone had about him. My prediction is that he will be a major player in the NFL and haters will continue to hate and find fault. Meanwhile, he will get rich and set records.
