Uh oh, it seems Clowney has decided to shoot his mouth off at media days. I hope he knows what he’s getting himself into. He took shots at Tajh Boyd, Aaron Murray and Johnny football. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen this coming season.
I don’t mind trash talking. As long as you back it up on the field.
From a USC fan, I’m just glad the team feels like it has enough swag to talk trash.
I am kind of old school. I have never really cared for trash talking. Let your performance on the field do your talking. Have some some class and act like you belong on the field. All you do is provide other teams with bulletin board material. Clowney and Watkins are both top shelf athletes. They should just shut up and play.

There has been trash talking since the beginning of competitive sports, it just wasn’t publicized in the media. Don’t confuse trash talking with showboating and humiliating your opponent which is what is going on today. I think we would love to hear what was being said in the trenches back in the day.
I don’t think he has anything to worry about…he is the best player in CFB and will back up his trash talk.
And I don’t know if I would call it trash talk…he is just stating the facts. I’m sure Tajh and every single QB he faces are scared of him. How could you not be?
Spurrier and Clowney should have learned from Lattimore. Win ,be great , and have some class!!! I’d hate to imagine the opposing qb was looking at a defensive player to call a play and with clowney being such a huge part of their success of course the qb is gonna look at him IMHO

“I can tell Tajh Boyd is scared back there,” Clowney said. “He ain’t no sitting duck, but you can see in his eyes that he’s scared of our D-linemen.”
and
“We know that coming into the game that we have him shook already,” Clowney explained. “We get a couple hits on him and it changes the whole game. He’s scared every time we play them. I know he’s probably listening to this right now, but I’m just telling the truth, man.”
and
“You can look at a guy and tell that he’s scared,” Clowney said. “If he’s staring at me before the ball is snapped and he’s staring at me every play before the ball is snapped, oh we got him. I tell the players that he’s shook.”
Its awfully funny to me that the orange and purple faithful are worked up about this. Clowneys comments are child’s play compared to what defensive guys actually say on the field.
Lo to the L. Talk about making something out of nothing…
I enjoyed the days before all the social media crap when football players were men. Seems like way too many “tough guys” are overly sensitive prettyboys these days. Sheesh!
No doubt fish I’m not saying he isn’t great but to say a qb is scared? I don’t think you could be a d1 qb and be scared. Respectful yes. Who would want Clowney hitting them on their blindside? If you’d like that call Dana White and fight ufc . I would certainly be aware of him and I think that makes the defense at scar better. Sometimes you can sneak a man in while the other team is focused on one player. I lost some respect for him when he said that while I still have the utmost respect for Marcus.
