Cobia at the Light 5/19 & 5/20

Went out Sat and Sun afternoon got to the light around 6:00 lost a nice Cobia right off the bat. He hit a bluefish on the top. Around 7 cought one that was 37 inches on a bluefish one the bottom. Cought whiting and sharks as well as some other trash fish. On sunday got out there at 5:00. It was much slower then Sat. we had one Cobia in the slick he also hit a live bluefish but we didnt get a good hook set on him. Both days we used live eels, whiting, bluefish, and crab. The bluefish were the most productive

just curious, how did you aquire your blues??

we got 4 or 5 off the light with a sabiki rig and cought 4 or 5 while we were anchored with shrimp on the bottom. They the juveniles no bigger then 6 to 8 inches although we did see what looked to be bluefish busting on some bait for about 15 mins

Water was very choppy Sunday. Is the light the pole in the middle of the sound? I have been to it several times and seen a light on top, but when I spoke with someone they indicated it may be a little farther off.

The Light is what we call the Combahee Light. It is a good ways out in the sound. It is a light made with three poles out in St Helena Sound at the very end of Ahepoo and Combahee Rivers. Have caught trout there before.
