Made a solo trip with Capers the Dog Saturday morning to Broad River. Conditions were perfect- slick calm. Within 5 minutes saw a small Cobia cruising on surface . Did not get a cast off since I had to switch fly rods to a smaller fly. 10 minutes later spotted a much larger fish. On second cast hooked up to a 45-50 -+ pound fish. After a 45 minute fight was able to release fish.
Only about 10-15 boats in all of Brioad River. With the no-kill rules in effect, really big difference in years past .
Great Day!
