Headed down to HH this weekend, in hopes of catching the tail end of the cobia run and see some friends. Anyone think they will still be around?

I would guess there are sill a few hangin around. There was a post last week I think it was of someone catchin a couple in the broad. Bring plenty of bait and leader line…you will burn through it with the sharks.

I caught one sunday morning 34 inches as greenies where thick. It was my third cobia of the week all on greenies slack tide close to the bridge. Went mon and tues but couldn’t even catch a greenie. So try to catch some whiting or mullet and hit slack tide high or low between first sand bar you find close to the bridge. Good luck as they are still there, boys on the pier say they catch them until august.

Cobia are in the broad looooooong after people think they have left. I caught my last one in October last year. Oh and BTW those small shark are not baby black tips, they are baby sharp nose. Baby black tips are born between 22-24" long. I tell you that because you can use them baby sharp nose to catch BIG black tip off the surf.

Yeah we made it out Saturday, beautiful day! Broad river is huge, first time on that side of Hilton head, love the waters. Couldn’t find a single greenie anywhere at slack tide, tried on cut mullet/squid for some, no luck. Headed out to white water reef, hooked up on something so big, broke my med-heave shimano rod when it struck, was awesome who cares! Just like Charleston, the black sea bass are thick and aggressive. Moved in shore up to skull creek/may river and found an inlet where dolphins were schooling and splashing bait/fish all over the place. Almost national geographic style. Fished the creek mouth for a bit, 10 bonnet heads, 2 black tips, a sharp nose, a lady fish (mini tarpon, put on a show real fun). Over all fun day, love the clean waters. Definitely going back.
