Coming down sat

Well gonna be there sat with the family. I hope to catch some fish and as if all the fresh water wasn’t enough we gonna get a storm to churn it up a little more. What are y’all’s thoughts on it? Bet the beach will be turbulent and nasty. Lets hope not. Gonna be staying on the 1300 block and fishing the respectable beach front. Give me a yell and well fish some . Will post some reports as soon as I get to try it out

Gonna be down as well on 900 block. Will be fishing in front of house as long as winds aren’t too bad. May need a little heavier weight but been waiting all summer to get back down. Of course my brother-n-law is at the house now catching spots and sharks with nice weather! I will walk down when weather clears.

Good to hear something is biting on the beach had no problems last year catching fish but the strong currents make it tough. Leaving the boat at home this year so beachfront, Jeremy inlet and botany looks like my choices. Thought about bringing my canoe but unsure of good places to try it. The tides look good that week with the first day low tide at 6 am. We’ll get a good early morning and late evening the first couple days anyhow.

I’m headed down Thursday so I can have a front row seat for Chantal. Hope it doesn’t screw up the fishing too bad. I get to make one trip to the coast every year and this is it.

Yeah hopefully it isn’t too bad. I don’t want to be stuck fishing from the ponds at the golf course! I may bring a kayak and hit the creeks if nothing else. Tides are looking great for morning/ evening. May even hit Jeremy Inlet mid-afternoon if I can drag my lazy butt that far with a pole in hand.

Thank The Lord today we may miss out on the storm next week .I feel your pain on the one trip a year it is bad to have it ruined by bad weather. Anybody got any surf reports. Would like to hear of some good action in the surf as if I’m not anxious enough

Catfish

Skipper, you decide on taking the canoe? I will have a kayak and game for giving it a go if you want to go out. With all of the fresh water pouring in, best shot may be state park. Let me know. Headed down this evening and will be fishing with my new orange custom rod holder by the 900 block groin as much as weather allows.

Not gonna bring the canoe this time. Probably gonna regret it but gonna be landlocked this time arrrrgh. Good luck and let me know what’s happening on the beach. I’ll be there tommorrow bout 2 or so

First evening on the beach resulted in three sharks three rays three whiting and a bunch of wind. Man at the wind. It’s 530 am windy and raining right now. Suppose to get better tues. Water right off the beach was real murky.

Catfish

Fishing slow on beach. Worked around the rain and with the wind but managed 10 or so good whiting several small sharks and small rays.

Catfish

You fishing left side of groin or right side? NE wind sucks. I did manage a trout, spot, several sharks Sat. Tried a bit yesterday but current and wind sucked.

Wind and current is terrible. Suppose to start calming down tommorrow. I’m fishing from right side to middle. Caught whiting pomps 3 ft sharp nose and 12 inch red fish this morning Should get better as the surf calms down

Catfish

Surf action still slow but picking up. Caught 50 lb ray yesterday along with 10 whiting This morning had 20 whiting and a big angelfish. Botany Bay bay was a bust yesterday with sand fleas and fiddlers caught a few whiting on shrimp. Might go towards Jeremy tommorrow and give it a shot

Catfish

Finished the week off good with two good days off whiting catching. Nice sharks are slow off the beach and big rays also The whiting is full on with the right rigs. Took me several days but I found the spot they were hanging out and it was on. Good luck to all.

Were the horseshoe crabs heavy? We were covered with them and they put up a decent fight on light tackle. Ended up with a nice bonnet head on Thursday night along with a few whiting. Almost everything was caught on cut mullet/ whiting/ menhaden. A few on shrimp and absolutely nothing on squid.

No horseshoe crabs where we were. Saw two doing the wild thing in the golf course pond though. We did catch a monster stone crab in the surf. Circle hook caught him just right in the claw. Taste buds went crazy when I saw him but he went back with all appendages.
