Coming Down to Fish New Years Week -

I am taking the week off at New Years to fish and work on the house.
My son says he is catching trout casting DOA shrimp. Will that still work in three weeks from now or should I try some other bait?

I will be using our small boat so I can go shallow in the creeks but not far from Lucy Creek. Any ideas?

DOA shrimp and anything in Chartreuse, Electric Chicken or this Morning Glory. These are my personal favorite soft plastics. http://www.basspro.com/Offshore-Angler-Saltwater-Sally/product/1208080452139/ Make sure to fish slow though!
