I will be at Edisto the week of the 4th. We have rented a house in the Jeremy Cay community. Our house is on the creek and we will have my '18 Jon boat with us. I would like a few tips on what to fish for, fish with (bait) and a general location as to where to fish. We’re just looking to occupy the kids for a while. Any tips would be more than greatful. Thanks in advance!!!
i will be down this sat. just some basics but, get a minnow trap and put a crushed crab or cat food in it. set it in the creek along or in the grass. catch lots of mud minnows. fish the mud minnows on a carolina or fishfinder rig slow on the bottom and catch some flounder. or fish the surf with cut mullet/whole mullet/ menhaden/ half crab and catch sharks, rays, whiting, ect. the main thing is have fun. in the creeks look for eddys or gutters feeding the main creek, oyster beds or any structure. might even find a trout or two

I will also be down that week but I will not bring the boat this time.Probablly just the surf and bridge fishing for me this time. I’ll be back in Sept. with the boat to catch some reds.
Rollerhead Push button (spincast) for the young kids (I have 4 year olds fishing in 5 minutes) and open face for the older kids. Walmart has a $10 outfit in three colors. 1/8th and 1/4 ounce ball jigheads and plastic grubs in different colors and you’re set. The kids love to cast (instead of drowning a bait). Just fish like for bass, current breaks, flats, creek mouths, etc. Bob Sanders
