Committee loves Notre Dame

They played a few good teams but hardly enough to be considered at 5. Maybe 15… Maybe

“When men yield up the privilege of thinking, the last shadow of liberty quits the horizon.” - Thomas Paine

They have the second toughest schedule behind Bama and lost to the #1 team by 2 points at their place and you have a problem with them being #5!!

Their signature win so far has been USC.

I'd like to see A rematch between Clemson and Notre Dame.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

You realize that if the committee didn’t like ND, Clemson wouldn’t be sitting where it is now.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

What are the signatures wins of the teams that YOU think deserve better? Signatures or not, the strength of schedule says they have played tougher teams as a whole more so than anyone else except Bama.

Imo bama is the one getting too much credit. Lose to a two loss ole piss and beat up some middle of the road teams. The uga win means no thing now. Their best win is against TA&M? A team that can’t even name a starting QB.

That is your opinion, but Vegas and the powers that put together the strength of schedules disagree with you. They have a proven track record.

Again, the same question to you, what teams and what signature wins do they have to get the nod over Bama at THIS point? Big 12 teams? None have played anyone yet. Baylor’s SOS is like 108!

I personally would not have put Bama in the top 4 yet as I think they have some work to do get in. If they win out, including the SEC Champ game, it is going to be hard to argue that they are not one of the top 4. Right now, it is easy to argue!

Quite a few scenarios that would leave the SEC out as well which is not necessarily a bad thing. The playoff needs to be 8 teams, leave the SEC out of this one as well as the PAC12 and it’ll go to 8 very quickly. What happens with an OSU, Clemson, ND and Baylor/TCU final four.

As would I. Notre Dame was lucky to stay that close.

That’s exactly my point. Don’t get me wrong, I’m pleased. I guess after the SEC teams, no other teams outside of the top 4 have really played any strength yet, but by strength of schedule alone and taking out history, OSU should not be there, IMO. I think Florida is ranked too low with their record in the SEC.

What happens is all the SEC homers that live vicariously through the good teams freak out.

Yes that would be true but, the overall effect on the playoff and CFB in general would be positive. The playoff would expand, probably encompassing more bowl games and getting some of the more meaningless games better matchups since teams out of the top 8 would be relegated down the line. You’d get rid of some of the 6-6 teams playing or make those bowls go away all together.

I can agree with this. I didn’t have OSU in my 4 teams this week. I had Memphis instead, based on what they have done over OSU. For some reason these other conferences have back weighted their schedules where the SEC has had several big games already. I mean OK, OK St, Baylor, TCU all play each other in the coming weeks. Ohio St plays Mich St. It will be fun to watch.

They desperately want Bama and ND in there.

Oh, their Dream Ticket would be Bama, ND, So. Cal. and Michigan/OSU.
