we are in n chuck behind super kmart. the road in front of our house floods bad. this morning the water is still visible on the shoulder. people were plowing through the water like their cars were boats. the guy that got stuck tried to go around the water an ended up on his side in the ditch with water up the passenger side of his car. didnt get a pic but i did get pics of the flooding and will try to post. our friends in the next hood over had four cars towed out of their front yard because of people trying to go around the water.

its kinda nice, there are several small lakes or ponds near by where i can get my craving satisfied until a good fishin trip can happen. there are bass and bream in some of the ponds. fun for kids. some of the neighbors dont like people on thier lawn but it works. were you on greenridge or otranto side?

got my fix for today, went down to the battery, hit dead low, brought up a nice 10" spot, a 12" whiting (keeper, future bait), a couple of other misc. hits. Going to bed early today, have to work night shift tonight and tomorrow night

we are on otranto side as well.
I lived down there 1993 till 2006, got married (2nd time) and moved out of there. neighborhood started getting bad

amen to that.i owned the second house past the little cricket on the deer park side of otranto.sold it and moved on.now im in a nice area,but surrounded by little mexico.

Went to Sport Authority this weekend to replace a reel…
After much searching, and thinking, and comparing…
Got an Okuma Avenger (Largest size Holds like 300 yards of 12 pound test I think).
I have to say, nice reel. My son had no problems with it yesterday, and the few times I used it to cast, it was very smooth.
It starts slow, and before you know it, you’re hooked.
Remo, I have 3 Okuma Avenger 65’s on my 12 footers. very good reels. use them for surf and as anchors for king fishing. the only thing i suggest is once or twice a year put 1 or 2 drops of good oil between the baitrunner tension knob and the housing at the backside of the reel. I’ve had them get a bit tight to turn but a drop of oil fixed the problem. just don’t over do it. not sure if too much oil here might cause problems with baitrunner feature.
