the first time i went to the pier, i had a shakespeare cirrus combo from walmart, and a penn powergraph and my moms zebco 808 from tobys…
in two years i now have:
- boat $15000
- big pier cart $170
3.two nice loomis combos with white model stradic 2500’s(retails for over $600, paid $350) - diawa with a sargus 3000 $130
5.cape fear with a pflueger (retails over 300, got for $35) - tld 15 on 7ft st croix tidemaster (paid $180)
7.penn 850 on 7 ft. shimano tallus(paid for reel, got rod for free)
8.12ft. OM surf rod with ambassaduer 7000 - 10ft. star stellar lite with amb. 6000
- ningbo lever drag on ande tournament standup
- tica sportera BTR on 8’6’ ugly stick custom surf.
- amb. 5000 on lightning rod
- shimano sonora 4000 on 7ft. star aerial
and more…
over 2 and a half years ive gone through countless tackle bags and boxes.
other things ive gotten:
thousands of yards of line
coolers
grubs
hard lures
rigs
lead
hooks
a dozen pairs of pliers
and a LOT more random stufff…
(and look how i turned out…)

I did a quick count and came up with 34 rod and reel combos, i’m sure i’m forgetting a few. Hmmmm… going to need more than one pic.
did you know new rods come half full of luck? and reels come that way too! so when you buy a new rod and reel, its completely full of fresh luck! (as long as your not a fish that is)

I’m still going to get me one of those Shimano 700B’s someday. don’t need it, just want it. it’s like a work of art. then i’ll have to fit it to a pole. probably another St. Croix, just like it’s little brother, the 400B.

Just got in from the pier. Wind was kicking. Water was muddy. Steven was there. Sharky showed up to talk. Landed 1 shark, bait bit in half twice. A few bait fish here and there. Would have been a real nice day, if it wasn’t for the wind. Got my fix for a couple of days.

Mikey, I’ve got Tica Sportera baitrunner, too. Real nice. I, also, have a Ugly stick custom 8’6". I have a Penn Cll6000 on that. Pretty good rod.

steven, im a LONGGG ways a way from having a wife, so im sure ill upgrade and have more fancy overpriced stuff by then!
yea i like that sportera, its an awesome little surf rod, i have 30 lb yellow PP on it, and when we were surf fishin, i had to walk up to the truck for something, and bob caught a 4ft shark on it… it will toss a 3 oz weight a LONGGGG way…

There is only one problem of having a CFD i.e. Compulsive Fishing Disorder is to find a place to hold the meetings. One obstacle though, everyone of you seem to have it and who the heck would lead the group? Has to be someone that doesn’t have it or has been through CFD rehab treatment. And you always can count on one another to be your buddy if the urge hits you that you can call day or night. And remember a Disorder is just a chemical imbalance in your brain. Make any more sense now?
