Why the haterd towards Spurrier… Clemson left their coach out high and dry when they Fired TB… Spurrier left under his own conditions, did Tommy, or did Clemson throw him out. CLEMSON QUIT ON THEIR COACH, and you judge whether Spurrier has character??
Ken Hatfield was an 8-3 coach, and CLEMSON QUIT ON HIM TOO.

Spurrier left you with **** for a football team. He left you and his successor with zero talent and no ability to be worth a (**() for 5 years if that soon. His ego burned it down around him as he quit on everyone. Quit trying to polish the turd or put a hat on the pile of ****, it’s what it is in the end.
There’s a big difference between getting fired from your job because you weren’t meeting specified goals and giving up and quitting on kids because they suck and you don’t want the losses on your record.
BTW, I was at Clemson when Hatfield was coaching. Lived in a dorm with football players. Everyone hated the guy, he and Tommy West were the worst coaching hires ever at Clemson.

You seem bitter. Clemson has their own accomplishments. And well deserved. But, trying to pull down USC won’t win Clemson a NC…Just doesn’t work that way…

If Spurrier is to receive credit for all that you laud him with, then he should receive equal blame for the sorry state the program is in now. Every loss and that humiliation yesterday should be on his record, instead people are blaming Elliot, that’s hardly fair when he inherited an impossible situation.

I still want SE to be the coach. Based on all thing considered, what’s there to lose? I maintained this from the get go. The current flux of coaching vacancies, Tanner should thread lightly. AGAIN, give Shawn Elliot a fair chance, let him hire his own staff. I believe he is a hell of a man. Things just don’t seem to be aligning for him now… I would be proud to have SE as our Coach, even if you folks run up a 100…
