Has anyone fished in the surf at Kiawah park or IOP park? Is it allowed? Any success?
I fish IOP and have fished the beach near the county park. Biggest issue can be the crowds on the beach and in the water in that area. You will probably get chased off by IOP police, or lifeguards in the summer, if it is crowded. Best to fish early in the morning - before the swimmers hit the water. Fish the north side of the sea cabins pier. I have caught most fish on the incoming tide about an hour after low. Cast out about 3/4 of the way to the end of the pier. Let you bait slowly drift in the current towards the pier. Start reeling in when your line gets close to the pilings to avoid getting snagged. Caught a 23 inch red on a piece of cut mullet at that spot back in October.
