couple more

Fished hard friday-6 hrs. Surf huge winds blowing hard out of NE almost unfishable stuck it out using 4oz on small rods,6oz on big rods, fished 2 hrs before high tide then 4 hrs outgoing. Out going always easier to keep lines out in tough conditions.caught 0 whiting for bait using shrimp,1 blue, 1 arm length shark,1 small red,and one bonnet head ,which is rare for me in surf. Nothing to get fired up about considering time and effort, If im not mistaking strong NE winds for me arent very productive. Also caught 5 baby sharks could of been worse maybe better luck next time.

never caught a bonnet head before. how big was it?

Hey Mr Fracwilt, how goes it, the bonnet head was close to 3 feet. Like I said I havent caught many in surf maybe only 1 other, but I used to catch allot out in father-in-laws boat working the banks of creeks. They are allot of fun on lighter tackle,he was caught on 8 foot ugly stick-they also look cool. They were the fish that first got me hooked 10 yrs ago I dedicated a whole photo album to them. Those were the days buy a disposable camera, snap a picture and done. Got a buddy going to show me how post pictures next time he comes over, but he doesnt come over often.

i had a nice time last tuesday. went out with a friend to an inlet and caught a few sharks. couple sharp noses, 1 break-off. i landed a 4’ blacktip and 1 larger shark bout 5’. not sure if the larger one was a blacktip or not, he leaped out of the water like a tarpon. was bout the coolest thing i’d ever seen. didn’t get any pics of the larger one, buddy had gone for a walk…

Congrats Mr Fracwilt, the last 2 weekends the flying sharks have eluded me by hitting my red lines, they are incredible and get the blood going- thats a good day. Would be great to get on video-but tuff.

That’s a solid days fishing.

I’ve caught most of my bonnets in surf or the inlets nearby. We have monster bonnets here.

First, Most, Biggest
I want to catch them all

This NE wind has been blowing for several weeks it seems like. Bad for fishing.
