Crabbing With My Daddy 2

Sunday night I sat on the back porch and watched the rain come down in barrels…not buckets…and felt sadness fall on me as I thought for sure I would not be able to go crabbing with daddy the next morning. It was 0100 and I would have to leave at 0430 to make my hardees stop and be there in time…and with the way it looked It didn’t seem it would be happening.
I went to bed and tossed until time to get up…rain was still falling at our house but i left any way .
No rain once I cleared Mt. Pleasant and while we saw rain skirting all around us…we never got a drop!
Soon as we saw Charles he laughed and said he had thought of me as the rain fell at his house and how sad I would be…but how happy he was that it had stopped and I could be there with my daddy

gator teeth marks from last season…

hoping the rain was going to stay away…and it did…

spotted our friend Charles…didn’t take him long to spot me with his biscuits from Hardees:smiley:

he tried to get me to “jump skiff” and come be

Being on the water is a blessing, catching fish is a bonus!

Y’all are welcome!
Windswept…as you can see I wear my special visors all the time! I asked daddy where he was (crabbing with my daughter) and he said it’s his most special hat and he is afraid it will get “blowed overboard”’ And he will lose it…;). But I told him you can’t worry about stuff like that,
He wore it to my house the other day and I asked him if he was taunting me because I couldn’t go
Tommorow I go on another adventure
I thank you again for making our one of a kind hats/visor and want you to know how much that meant to us! I will always treasure mine!

Just when it seems this site is about to get over-run by opinonated homer internet tough guy know-it-alls, you make your posts and the world seems right again. There should be a “Penny section” on this site. I hope your keeping a compilation of your posts and pictures and a book or memoir is soon to follow. If that ever happens, I’d like to go ahead and reserve my copy…signed of course.

Great Pics!

I wish I had kept copies of them. I actually tried to go back and print them for my daddy and momma but it won’t let you go but so far back.

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments

I’ve got the equipment and experience, I’m in! But seriously, I’d love wear my videographer hat and make a documentary of one of your days of crabbing. If interested let me know.

Love reading your posts… Time well spent with your family is priceless…

Another great post, Penny - - hope you are saving all these pictures and your posts. They would make a great book, a super “coffee table book” for people who love living in this area, or for visitors to take home. Not kidding. MB and I love you, gal - - got some soup for you and Donny, chicken-sausage, one of my best, even if I do say so.

Great post, it makes us all think of our own special memories as you make yours. I think we all get into that rut of just dealing with the daily problems and not looking for memories. Thanks for putting that back into perspective.

What is life without adventure

Another fantastic report, except that it made me think about all the fishing time I’ve spent with my Dad, and wishing he was still here to fish with again.

You are a blessed lady and your Dad is a blessed father. Don’t change a thing.
