Crabbing

Hey guys, I know ya’ll get hit up all the time with down for the week ?'s, but I was curious about some potenial crabbing spots. We’ve been coming down for about 10 years now and always crab at steamboat or dawho. The family has now grown to a 6,4 and 1 year old so boat and long trips are now a no go, more like nap time and 6,and 4 year old sneak out with me at nap time. Really appreciate any help or maybe some off the beaten path ideas. Thanks very much.

Have some friends with a house on the lower end of Edisto. We spent in weekend once and I took 2 Large traps with me. Baited them with turkey necks from the Pig. I waded them out from the front beach on a low tide one morning. Carried them out until I was neck deep. Pulled them out the next morning at low tide. 6 of us ate crabs until we coulden’t eat any more from those 2 traps. You don’t need a boat and no one bothered them.

Be care full with your traps on the extra high, high tides, they can get washed away! After 60 years of setting traps I lost one this week end! Should have known better but I got the taste in my mouth!!
