Well plans fell through for Cobia fishing this week but I was determined to do somthing. So Friday afternoon i was heading out despite the blustery winds. Went to the broad and after along battle of with the wind and current doing two different things I anchored on a reliable oyster bar. I landed the biggest lady fish I had ever seen. It was about 24+ “. After that I lost a mystery fish and about 6 hooks to the bar. Move on to spots 2,3,&4 with nothing. Decided to work some grass lines and submerged oysters with top water and on the firs cast landed a nice 16” trout. Then nothing besides a few more blow ups on top water and another 20"+ lady fish.
The fishing may have been crappy but the wildlife was pretty cool. We saw a big green sea turtle, about a seven foot shark in the grass, some dolphins and a manatee! I couldn’t believe it but it definitely was a manatee. It was about 30 yard away from the boat at one point .
