While I was trying to film some Tarpon With my drone A Giant Prehistoric Uglyfish tried to get into my boat. He smacked my daughter on the arm with it’s tail and again on the boat. This guy could have done some serious damage. This just happened about 6 hours ago. Finally caught some trout today around Edisto. It’s been tough here. Happened so quickly, noticed you said on the video that you thought it was a tarpon. Had that happen twice in the North Edisto 3 weeks ago but 100 yards away. I also said then I thought it was a tarpon. Seen them roll before that but never free jump. Now I’m not so sure it wasn’t a sturgeon. Thanks for the video -a case for always wearing the Go Pro.
That’s just one more reason to keep a roll of TP in the boat.

Thanks for all the good coments . It’s my pleasure to share it. I’ve never seen tarpon jump but I’ve seen them roll and these were rolling just like them . We thought that’s what they were this time. After watching some of the other videos we had of them jumping they have a distinct jump. Straight up then a twist they land on their side. I heard one jumps in the boat at least once a year on the waccamaw river. This beast could have easily destroyed my boat. I’ve seen what a 70 lb cobia can do to a boat even after a big fight. This one was fresh and probably would have beat himself to death. I always wear a gopro on a hat cam I made. Especially when I am fishing. How many times have you seen something and nobody else does or you wish you had the camera rolling.
