the page will not open for me, but from the title…it is not a surprise. It happens all the time. Most just end up holding a clipboard. But good luck to him.

Yep, it would be a bitc*, to have to cut your Son!

that will not happen. He still has to go home to his wife

I’m sure they have talked about what could happen and have come to terms with it, or it wouldn’t have happened in the first place! Mommy would have put her foot down:wink:

No one in here truly knows how good he is. Don’t rush to judge, it’s quite possible he’s the next Hunter Renfrow…

From a SI article:

Dabo Swinney’s son Will officially signed his national letter of intent to join Clemson’s football team as a walk-on next season.

“I have been recruiting this kid for 18 years and paid his mother a lot of money,” Dabo Swinney joked with reporters.

“I’ve never recruited anyone who has worked harder to achieve his dreams than my son,” Swinney added. “He’s special. I just couldn’t be more proud. I couldn’t wait to get up this morning and introduce him.”

I love Dabo. He’s the coach I would want my son to play for. A real leader of men.

You are right, no one knows yet, but come on, he is talking about his son. What do you expect him to say. He is a walk-on for a reason…although it would surprise me to find out coaches kids get free tuition…so this would be a great way around burning a scholarship.

His dad is a millionaire, why would he need a scholarship?

And why would anyone care. If he makes the team he makes the team…if he doesn’t, he doesn’t. It’s a non issue.

I, for one, can’t wait to see him shine, and hope he does.

Tiger, there are several scholarship players whose parents are rich. Look at johnny football…or the makelwian(really butchered that) kid. The kid cares about being good enough for one.

leadenwahboy,
I agree, I hope he does well. As I said in my first post. Good luck to him.

I have seen a few videos and write ups on him and he appears to be a really tallented player on the HS level, hopefully he will continue to shine playing CFB.

One Simple Thanks!!

Having an extra scholarship means far more to a hc than 60k worth of tuition

This!! He doesn’t need a scholarship, why waste one. If he has half the work ethic of his old man, he’ll be a darn good one.
