Hey everyone. Again a new member here and somewhat new to fishing at edisto but i know the basics. I am taking my family down the first weekend in December and I was wondering what my best bets would be reds/trout wise. I am also looking for any info I can get about fishing here and if any of you would help me with that that’d be fantastic. Thanks.
If you can make it to 100’ there are good fish being caught on the bottom!
There is always good offshore bottom fishing. A charter can be woth the investment. Fishing inshore can be great or very poor in December.
Olde Man Charters
The inshore fishing for reds and trout will be strong that week especially on days with light winds.
Thanks everyone. I have a 16 ft tracker and I mainly stay in the creeks. The best fishing I’ve done is way up big bay creek where those fallen trees are at and I would just like some input on where else I can have a great chance to catch fish and what methods and etc. thank you.
Duplicate the pattern in which you are having success in other spots.
listen to RD he’s right on! Try with and with a cork!
Thank you all for the input. I was going to use a braided line with a fluorocarbon leader and use a Carolina rig along with the corks. Let me know if there’s something else I could be doing to add to my chances. Thanks for your help.
All you need is a good cast net and a floating bait bucket, don’t ever think a mullet is to big! Try it live and cut.
Sometimes the trout seem to prefer the artificials to even the live bait. Trout trick on a trout eye jig head is a good choice. They have them at the marina. I still like the old purplish ones but to be fair havent given the new colors much of a chance yet. Work for redfish as well. Good luck. HOpefully the weather will be like this past weekend.
