DELTA-ONE 8/30/08

A good day! Slow, but good. Kicked off the morning troll with an estimated 50lb smoker king. Slowed up, but knockdown after knockdown until we ran into a pack of 'cuda’s a few hours later. Though bait stealers to us, the guests enjoyed the thrill. On the way back we came across a large piece of lumber where we lassoed in 5 slinger mahi’s on some light tackle.

how about some pics of the king???

I too would love to see a pic of that king if you got one. Congrats on the catch

Please post pics of that 50lber!

Capn may be off by a few lbs, but it was definitely a 40+ caliber fish. Good action all day, green crew so we didn’t get many to the boat. About 30 miles out we found the piece of 6X6 and a school of about 20-30 dolphin. Whipped out the spinning gear, found the bite, threw a few slingers in the box (I think it was 6-7) and called it a day. Tight lines

“well my mom was a democrat and my dad was a democrat, so i guess thats why i’m a democrat”
-“so you mean to tell me that if your mom was an idiot and your dad was a moron, what does that make you? an obama supporter?”

Maybe we should have put up one of the other pictures for the nay-sayers. Perhaps the one that max’s out the mate’s Boga. You guys will certainly get one of your own one day and the Delta One can help make that happen. Contact me if you are interested in a group trip.

How long was he?

Man, that is an awesome 21# king! If you go get two more, they might total 50#. Or even 51#!!

Or are those guys less than four feet tall?

Just trying to help -

c.

rereading edit

Are you trying to tell us that this fish has been photographed maxing out a 50# boga? PLEASE, bring on the photo! Puuulleeezzeee?

Man, if that DELTA ONE boat can put us on a slew of those “50# SMOKER KINGS”, we need to book that boat NOWWW!!! My pregnant wife luvvs big kings! Oh, wait… I can catch a king that big in my jon boat.

Dorks.

Isn’t Utah inshore?

I have caught a butt load of 22-25lbers this summer and that definitely falls in that category. There is a lot to be said about all the posts on this site without pics and the fact that 50% is BS from newbies.

Wow, didn’t think our fish would gain such attention! Especially for a post that is now over a week old.

Fish measured FL: 55.5 Inches, for those interested.

There’s probably a website out there with fish size to weight charts if you are that hard up to discredit. I’m sure DNR has something published.

Good luck with your wife and John-boat, C!

Bo if i walked down the dock with a 30lb fish and i thought it weighed 50lbs who cares what someone else says i had a good time catching it and its not like any one of ya’ll have caught a fish that was smaller then what you really told someone it was.

So its ok to be in the wrong as long as you had a good time doing it??? Pretty funny coming from a guy with a “Team boat”!

Who cares if it’s 20lbs or 80lbs, still a nice dang fish! Just think how much bigger most fish would be if our armspread was 10 ft instead of 6 ft! Thas fishin.
