Deshaun Watson is the man!

What a great player! That is the best performance in a national championship game I have ever seen. Quite possibly the greatest in college football, especially with a loss. His throws were perfect, except the one, his composure was great and his illusiveness was awesome to watch. I can’t remember a single player so important to his team. Alabama could win with almost any qb they put in because of the sheer volume of talent around them but that’s not the case in the upstate, #4 is Clemson. Congratulations to a hell of a year!

I told a co-worker that for Clemson to win, Watson would have to be able to pass the ball. He did and with the exception of the one pick, I thought he was spectacular. I hate he will be back next year.

Agree he is a special player. I know they have some quarterbacks coming in that are supposed to be great talents and are highly touted, but players like Watson don’t come along very often. He has it physically, between the ears and a great ability to make quick and correct decisions under pressure. It is tough to find all three in one person regardless of physical talent.

Agree on all points Andy. His poise under all circumstances is not something you can coach. He was born with it

He was screwed in the Heisman vote. Best player, by far.

I thought this was evident last night. With the exception of some long runs, the Tigers stopped Mr . Heisman…

He did run for 3 TD’s! Just saying and not trying to take anything from Watsons great night!

He did, no doubt, and he is great, but the straight-ahead short inside the tackle run was largely shut down

Those designed qb runs were far less effective than his scrambles all year. He’s not a power runner like Boyd. Watson works his magic in space.

I cringe every time I see the designed qb run. He is a great runner in free space, but he’s not a power runner. Playing him like one is going to get him killed. Shots like the one he took to the hip are going to add up.
Defenses can prepare for a designed qb run, its almost impossible to prepare a defense for spontaneity.
