The wife is taking me for a little getaway to Dewees island via the ferry next sunday for fathers day. Looking into doing a bit of fishing while we’re there, never been there before so the only scouting I can really do is on google maps…anybody have any hints on where to head to? I figured I’d take some shrimp/mullet to use and hope to get some whiting, red, or pompano. Are there any rocks or structure off the beach that may hold some fish? It sounds like a relaxing time hopefully someone’s gotta little info on the area, appreciate it!

Scratch that it looks like it’s a private island and we won’t be visiting…

I think Barrier Island Eco Tours will ferry you to Capers Island for fishing or camping. You can call them at 886-5000 and check.
Yeah I’m looking into the ferries that take you to different islands…found one that goes to and fro bulls island for $40/person.

If anyone’s interested…unfortunately they don’t go on Sundays, but for $40 you get a ride to and from bulls island, not too shabby for a quick getaway
Bulls Island is a beautiful place, but a couple of warnings. Bring mosquito repellent! This cannot be overstated. If you plan on fishing, the beach is a pretty good hike from the boat landing, so plan accordingly.

Thanks for the heads up!
