Different Beach...

…same result…One fish. IOP has been slow this winter, went to Folly. Seems like my “ones” are gettin’ bigger though :stuck_out_tongue:.

Pretty windy, current was running, 5-6oz to hold. Fished high to low.

Beats setting in the recliner and watching golf.

Keep the reports coming, as soon as you’re catching a bunch I’ll be down to catch a few.

Nice fish Mr. Parker, did Kahlua make the cut?

Hello to all.
First time posting on this forum. Heading down to Folly Beach this Friday. What’s biting this time of year and what bait is best? My wife and I go to Folly about six times a year and we love it but I’ve never fished there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tight Lines

Welcome to CF.com tdsg013. Hmmm…what’s biting in the surf right now? For me lately not much. But you never know. Normally the Atlantic Rays are thick in the surf zone. They are fun to catch when nothin’ else is bitting. This year have not hooked any. Of course Whiting, Black Drum and Smallish Red Drum will still be around unless water temp gets stupid cold, 49-50. Fresh dead shrimp on the bottom is 1st, cut bait chunks 2nd. Keep hook size small, #1-1/0 max for Shrimp, 6/0 max for chunk bait. 3-6oz. Pyramid sinkers.

And Pete, Kahlua is a wanderer, kinda hard to fish having to watch her like a Hawk.

Plus she looks like this after just 5 minutes…

Fish the rocks by the county park and you should catch small blackdrum. The inlets should be good for a few rays and whitings.
