sorry
Haha that story made me crack up laughing. I know what you mean. It’s just so hard to be mad at the little guy over something like that. My 2 year old is my little hero. I’m looking forward to lots of fishing adventures with him. Great story!

Awesome story… you handled it well.
great story, thanks for sharing. hope you guys have good luck next time out.
My father use to take me fishing in farms ponds in ohio and instilled a love for fishing in me that I still have today as an adult and I have passed it, hopefully down to my girls. Thanks for sharing. I can still hear the Oldman, “get all your chores done and we can go fishing this evening” music to a young mans ears.

It will be ok. You’ll be able to give him a ribbing later in life for it. To be honest you probably shouldn’t let too small a kid wade out into deep water with a huge shark on the line. Stick with him next time and worry about the other shark later. That’s what the drag and barb are for. Losing a leader is a small price to pay to ensure your kid gets his first monster…and you don’t lose your rod.

Fair enough. He’ll get one next time.
