I know not many people target dogsharks and fing them annoying but I actually want to catch one for the fun of it. They are present during the winter but where is the best place to catch them and what month are they thickest they are the only present sharks in winter and I really want to catch a shark other than the little tiny ones that I catch during summer. What type of baits do they bite and are they spiked dogsharks or smooth dogsharks?
Both spiked and smooth off folly pier. Chunk mullet in February and March. Do a search on here for them. The water needs to be alittle choppy too.
Towards the end of Folly pier, cast right towards turn of the artificial reef with cut bait and hold on to your pole. It won’t take long

If you do go for that option, I would suggest heeding the warnings not to use their pier nets on sharks. Saw someone get kicked off the pier last winter for netting a spiny

Have they showed up there yet? Thinking about going either this Saturday or during Christmas break if so what is the best gear to use.
No they are not here yet but there is still a few last to leave summers sharks being caught, so a few people catch them at folly.
