Just want to give everyone a heads up. If you are running offshore of South Beach Marina, we have pipe strung from Harbour town all the way to the south end of the island. Be careful of floating buoys as most of them have cable attached to them. If you need to Contact the dredge crew, we monitor channel 66.
Thanks for the heads up Paul!
Thank You for the heads up. I don’t understand why those cans aren’t lit at night. Is there anything offshore ? We cut the corner and head east out of calibogue and cross between braddock point and Barret shoals.

We have a disposal side about 4000 feet past the end of South Beach. There are two yellow floating steel buoys with markers on them. There is also three large orange float attached to the disposal pipe.

You find anything interesting from the bottom of the river?I knew some guys that worked on the dredge in the cooper river years ago and they found a lot of neat stuff. My sons would also find a few things at the end of the pipe on the spoil area under 526 .

Unfortunately the spoil area for this evolution is 4000 feet off of South Beach out in Calibogue sound. When it is a dry spoil area, you find shark teeth, vertebrae, cannon balls and all kinds of neat ****.

i’m hearing your digs on HHI are outstanding*
so much for roughin it
Left Broad Creek wth my daughter from Nashville around noon today right about when the Wind picked up heading out to Widewater for bull reds. Near south beach moved closer to shore to get out of the wind and hit partially submerged dredge pipe going around 25 mph. Both engines stopped cold and kicked up. After checking for any leaks and damage tp engines cranked them back out and continued out. Yes there are bouys attached to pipe but I thought pipe was anchored to bottom like the offshore dradge pipe used be dredging company for last year. You can not hit their pipe. This pipe was right below surface#128565; .
Both props dinged pretty good causing lots of vibration. Pretty foggy which made it hard to find birds feeding . Fished structures at whitewater for about 1 hour with big jigs with no luck. Lots of birds but all scattered.
I would certainly stay clear of HHI side of Calibogue sound from Harbour town all the way out to disposal site. At cut off south beach point pipe was apparently anchored as we made it between bouys without seeing or hitting any pipe. Hopefully they will anchor entire pipe in the future .
