Drone Surf Fishing

Anybody here thinking of this idea ? I was hesitant at first because of the cost of the drone loosing it in the water but after checking this kickstarter project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/splashdrone/splash-drone-3-a-fully-waterproof-drone-that-float

I am more incline to try it. Let me know what are your thoughts on this.

Good morning Werson. Happy Thanksgiving. Talk to Stevo. I think he tried out the drone if I’m not mistaken.

I looked into it, but the cost of getting a drone with a decent flight time, charging time, distance and extra batteries. Kinda put on the back burner for the time being.

Ya know, it must be nice living in Neverneverland. Remind me to come visit you, when I need a break from reality.

Hello Pete Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. Not sure if there’s other drones out there much cheaper than this one with similar features.

Yeah the cost is really the main factor $1399 for the fisherman’s version

I drone fished the beginning of the year in march. I would take out an 8oz weight and a big whiting with ease. I was using the phantom 3 standard. I modified a coat hanger on the bottom as a dropping rig. Just google and you will find how to make one. If you want something more official this place makes an electronic bait dropper for the phantom 3.

I would still be using mine but was forced to sell it. I will be getting another very soon. I think its a good thing to use for dropping shark baits but you can only get several drops per battery.

@Stevo what drones are you planning to buy soon ?

I am looking at this: https://store.dji.com/product/mavic-pro

They have a Gannet Bait Pro Release as well but I am still undecided.I am looking for fellows here who is already using a drone and get some good advice.

Thats the drone i am going to buy the mavic pro. Prob try and find it used somewhere. Its hard to lug around the bigger phantom 3 standard. The mavic is compact wich would be perfect.
