Duck hunting Edisto?????

Hey I was wondering if you are allowed to duck hunt in the sound out of Edisto. I was out there fishing last week and couldn’t help but to notice the sandbars out there that look just like the sandbars that I hunt on the Texas coast. I know there is not gonna be no where near the numbers I see in Texas, but that 17 hour drive is a haul. It looks like some divers might get out there. Maybe some bluebills, buffleheads, and an occassional redhead. Anyways I was just wondering?

Yes. Go here <http://www.scducks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=4> to learn all about it.

just like duck hunting anywhere else, you’ve got to put in the time scouting…

buffle heads are a safe bet in any coastal waters around charleston

Thanks Bob and good seeeing you when I was down. Circle Hook I know exactly what you mean. I live about three hours away from Edisto so ofcourse I can’t just hop down there all the time but when I was out there I saw some places that look like they would hold some ducks (assuming any ducks were down). When I hunt the gulf coast I fair pretty well. I will scout like hell for a day or two and then hunt and scout as I go. I might not kill as many as the locals but I fair pretty good. Tlread buffleheads were the first duck to come to mind when I was out there. Not very good table fair but a beautifull drake if nothing else. I have shot em from the Texas coast to Florida to North Carolina. I guess living inland and shooting puddle ducks all the time I just love going to the coast and hunting divers. There ain’t nothing like shooting ducks in that salt air!!!

A few pics from Texas this past duck season

This is one of the sandbars that I was talking about. Redheads by the thousands!!!!!!!

My trophy of the trip for me

pics look good! i might head towards the west for a trip this year to see what duck huntin is all about!

Big Country if you are a duck hunter you owe it to yourself to head in that direction. Birds are out there by the hundreds of thousands!!!
