Headed out this weekend to see what was biting. I fished Friday by myself and on Saturday was joined by a special guest, Mr. Parker. It was fantastic to fish with him and I will have to say he is one hell of a fisherman. We figured the bite was going to be slow and it was. Even though literally"nothing"was biting he managed to put up a few and I did not fair so well on Saturday and pulled the dreaded goose egg. We worked very hard, fished a great looking spot for seven hours starting dead high tide, with the tide going out. We used shrimp, frozen mullet and whiting. We peppered bars, troughs, holes ledges, drop offs, rips and currents and what little bit of fish we caught, were earned. I can’t say enough about how good Mr. Parker is at his craft and how much fun it was to fish with him. It was tough fishing, but great to get out. Friday I landed a single small shark around 3 ft. (fished 3 and a half hours) Saturday Mr. Parker managed a small red, a whiting, and a ray. He also had one bite off from a shark that he got close enough to see, the shark was about 3 ft. We can only do our best and when MOTHER NATURE is ready we will be waiting. So now I will dazzle you with some sun sets seeing how it was slow. Good luck to all folks and happy fishing.
