He can’t. Lied once and said Trump advised to drink bleach. Perhaps he just stretched things some.

You would think the thing with FBI proof that Biden showered with his daughter and by her own admission turned her into a sexual deviant would be enough to show people how perverted and unworthy Biden is. But nope, they just spew Trump bla bla bla and over look a true Pedophile.

“A good president could fix this problem quickly.”

Something we are sorely lacking at this time. A doddering old man and a cackling moron as V.P… There is no hope for us as long as this administration is in power. A border disaster that is letting a record amount of illegals in that will eventually just be more parasites sucking off the government teat, an economy going down hill at a record pace but hey, let’s worry about using the proper pronouns. Hey, whatever happened to that student loan plan?

This administration is absolutely the most inept in modern history.

with the support of their fake opposition

Yeah like we really need the 3.6 million Michelle Obama walking trail.

I’ve said it before. Politicians, both repubs and demos want us to hate each other, they want discord and divisiveness . As long as we are focused on each other and the made up crap they want us to focus on, we aren’t paying attention to what they are doing. That is, driving the country towards bankruptcy and getting rich…all with OUR money. Look at the amount of time most of these “people” have spent in D.C… WHAT do they have to show for it other than getting rich? Most of the problems we have are not new and have persisted for years, WHY haven’t any of them been fixed?

what you said. The only Politician that I’ve seen lose money during a stint in office was Trump. Do some searching on how much money our Politicians have made while in office. Millions… AOC had a negative net worth… Some estimates including every source of her income is now at 38 million.

Any economists on here?

How about business owners?

Looking for what the near term future holds

Wish I had a cyrstal ball that worked. I’ve heard through a couple of invester types 4th quarter and 2024 1st quarter not looking good with possible depression. If you go by the definition we are in a recession now. Just not being stated as such.

On a plus right now most banks are offering short and long term CD’s around 5%. Sure beats the .002% you get on savings accounts.

a repeat won’t be good

We have very little investments. Have sold pretty much everything off we have two properties and a couple thousand dollars in pot stocks. Gold and cash.

@Offthechain

Dry powder. If you had it back in 2008-2012 you were in a position to make a killing on real estate alone.

What is the definition of a recession?

Housing may be cooling in some areas, tourism and hospitality are crushing it in the Lowcountry. I believe airline companies are doing well also

United Airlines (UAL) has advanced 48% on the year while Delta Air Lines (DAL) is up around 47%. American Airlines (AAL) stock has gained 46% since the end of 2022. Copa (CPA), the leading Latin American air carrier, is also on the upswing, gaining 32% so far in 2023.

I still see massive projects in the beginning stages, all over Dorchester County. Hwy 78 will be unrecognizable before long. Widening of I26 is just beginning, dual traffic roundabouts will be installed at exit 187. New plants, Battery tech firm AESC is partnered with BMW, and it broke ground today on a 30 GWh EV battery factory in Florence County, South Carolina.

Construction of the 1.5 million-square-foot plant is now under way, and it’s expected to be fully operational in 2026. The $800 million EV battery plant will create 1,170 local jobs.

Dec 14 (Reuters) - Redwood Materials is the latest company to set up shop in South Carolina’s growing community of electric vehicle and battery manufacturers, the Carson City, Nevada-based firm said on Wednesday.

Redwood said it will build a $3.5 billion battery materials campus in Ridgefield, about 30 miles (48.28 km) northwest of Charleston, that will recycle, refine and remanufacture cathode and anode materials such as nickel, cobalt, lithium and copper.

Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is “driving a boom in large-scale infrastructure,” wrote Ellen Zentner, chief U.S. economist for Morgan Stanley, in a research note released Thursday. In addition to infrastructure, “manufacturing construction has shown broad strength,” she wrote.

As a result of these unexpected swells, Morgan Stanley now projects 1.9% GDP growth for the first half of this year. That’s nearly four times higher than the bank’s previous forecast of 0.5%.

“The economy in the first half of the year is growing much stronger than we had anticipated, putting a more comfortable cushion under our long-held soft landing view,” Zentner wrote.

The analysts also doubled their original estimate for GDP growth in the fourth quarter, to 1.3% from 0.6%. Looking into next year, they raised their forecast for real GDP in 2024 by a tenth of a percent, to 1.4%.

“The narrative behind the numbers tells the story of industrial strength in the U.S,” Zentner wrote.

Just got back from Beaufort, my friend bought a nice advantage boat using gold he got about 20 years ago.

Today, inflation is at 9% and unemployment is at 4.2% I think that’s getting pretty close. Doing some quick searching, I’ll bet our inflation rate is much higher than being said when you factor in all day to day expenses. No body wants to say it to keep from causing a panic. IMO.

How you been? Got the pen deer fattening up for the slaughter? Cordray’s treated me good again on beef. Love that place.

We run the roads a lot. That means eating out a lot more than I like to.
We go to cracker barrel for breakfast it’s $30-$35. That’s not counting the tip. Was 18 or 20.
Hell I think a sausage biscuits $3 and change now. No more 2 for 2.
I’d go to Hardee’s get 30/40 biscuits for the guys. Don’t see that happening much anymore.
I imagine you see it in the cost of your parts. I bought a master cylinder kit last week $22. They were around 10 bucks not long ago.
Yeah I called BS on the 9%.
Almost forgot… :fuelpump:
