Curious, u guys use reef anchors or something else when going after the spades? How much rope and chain?

I got up at 4:00 to leave for Edisto. Got 40 minutes down the road only to see the forecast had changed for the worse. So, I aborted my trip from Greenville. Not gonna drive 4 hours down and 4 hours back for bad weather.

You can use reef anchor or I use a normal set-up at the 40 or the 60. Use chain anad double rope length - @ the 40 you would need about 80 feet of rope - 5 ft of chain. I use a inexpensive slip ring anchor.

im leaving out tomorrow. anything going on at the 40 or 60 last weekend? are spades there yet? havent been out there but a few times and didnt have a whole lot of luck, so if anybody wants to share some tips it would be greatly appreciated.
dont waste time at 40 go out to the 60 for spades! saw a lot of big spanish also so have a gotcha plug or a spoon tied on!

Sabikied bait the other day on 60. Spades are there. Jelly Bobs also easy to find now, but look in close to the beach.
