Went to edisto this afternoon with the family and nephew. had a bluefish i froze from last trip for bait. didn’t take long for the sharpnoses to find the bait. we landed 7 in about 3 hours of fishing, lost a couple others. oh, and the horseshoe crabs were mating all over the dang beach. was hard to wade out and cast without stepping on one.
Mr. Fracwilt not a bad day for you, I see you brought your good luck charms when those boys nail the big one it will be seared in there memory forever. they will go back to school with confidence and identity and feel like they are a part of something special. Kudos to your wife, the first time that fished bucked mine would have dropped it where she was standing, and she would have not been in the picture.I appreciate your advice on upper case letters as im not used to posting. I will also be looking into Photo bucket, to try and figure out how to post pics. Just a quick question,Is it worth the effort to put out red lines in addition to shark lines in the summer,or is it pretty rare to catch them.I did have the good fortune to catch 3 last august when it was 100 degrees outside yet mono gets bitten off quickly when the sharks are running. Two weeks ago I lost out on a big shark when he hit the only red line i had out among 3. Its a shame when they dont cooperate.
you can also upload pics straight from your computer by choosing to insert image file. just be sure to resize the pics, won’t upload if too large. i resized mine to 800x600 pixels. i don’t target any specific fish when i go. i’ve caught a couple small reds on shrimp, but mostly end up with whiting and bluefish. i keep a couple good sized rods out with whatever fresh cut bait i have available. they usually get eaten by sharks and rays.
