We received several calls about the Edisto A can missing, so did a little digging and the buoy was removed October 2011 and will not be replaced.
The statement about the buoy was “it marked the entrance to 2 minor inlets and was deemed unnecessary”

NOAA strikes again! I guess we dont need the A can? Its still on my GPS tho!
And that is what prompted us to find out what happened to the A can. Snowbird called and told us his GPS showed the can, but it was missing. He called the coasties who told him, “we have no data on it being removed, it must be missing”. Me being the politically correct ex-Navy 05 I am said, no s5it.
The next conversation was priceless because the “boater” could not understand why the can was not removed from his GPS plotter (insert a WTF open mouth face thing here)
